The Asetek La Prima™ Direct Drive Wheelbase is the way into the Asetek ecosystem - and still not entry-level hardware. With 12 Nm of peak torque, a 22-bit encoder and the same slipring as the larger models, it delivers force feedback at a resolution usually found much further up the shelf.
12 Nm is not a compromise
The smallest motor in the Asetek range is not the weakest product. Construction, materials and electronics match the larger bases; only the torque was reduced. For GT, formula and touring cars that is plenty - 12 Nm is more than most drivers sustain over a full race distance.
22-bit encoder with 4,000,000 steps
Angular resolution is 0.000085 degrees, which works out to roughly four million steps per revolution of the wheel. In practice: road texture, the onset of understeer and the transition to the grip limit arrive as separate signals rather than undifferentiated shaking.
No cogging, no lag
Direct drive without belts or gears means no transmission losses, no play and no wear on drive components. The slipring is designed and tested for more than 200 million rotations. Housing and load-bearing parts are anodised extruded aluminium and steel.
Open ecosystem
The Asetek Quick Release is already fitted. Changing wheels works like shifting gear - press the paddle and the wheel is in your hands. No wireless link, no battery, no cable that can come loose. The Invicta Quick Release Adapter additionally allows wheels from other manufacturers with a standard bolt pattern to be mounted.
Mounting and connections
T-nuts come pre-installed in the bottom grooves, so the base slides back and forth in your rig - which makes expensive wheel extensions that stress the bearings and shorten service life unnecessary. Front, bottom and side mounts as well as a table clamp solution are available as accessories. The rear carries up to five USB ports for pedals, wheels and further peripherals.
RaceHub™
Configuration runs through RaceHub, Asetek's own software. Steering range, bumpstop hardness and range, overall force, damping and smoothing can all be set and stored as profiles per car, track and condition. Every value is written to the base's EPROM and survives without the software running.
